10 years! I cannot believe that I have been in this business for 10 years! It’s been an amazing ride, and today I want to share with you three lessons that I’ve learned over those 10 years.

The first one is – be really specific about who you want to help. Yes, we talk about industries and company size and things like that. But who do you enjoy working with? Do you like people that are very structured and very regimented or do you prefer people that are a bit more relaxed and take it as it comes? Do you like people that are very serious or do you want to laugh and joke around a little bit, or a lot? Think about that because you are much more inclined to enjoy working with people that you enjoy.

The second lesson that I’ve learned is you can build your business however you want to, maybe the conventional wisdom says you’re supposed to do internet marketing one way and you find that icky. Don’t do it. Maybe the conventional wisdom tells you how to sell and do cold calls this way and you find that doesn’t that, that doesn’t work for you. Don’t do it. It’s your business. As long as it’s legal and moral, do it your way.

And finally, somewhat related to that, trust your gut. Always, always, always. Every time that I have gone against that inner feeling I’ve regretted it and I just don’t do it anymore. So no matter what the experts or the conventional wisdom tell you it’s your business, it’s your life, do it your way and enjoy. And thank you for being part of this journey with me for the last 10 years. And I look forward to working with all of you for the next 10 years!
